it was good but lenghty ..and tds questions were tricky!!..
Not many came from latest amendments!! I feel so bugged up cos I wasted much time reading all the latest stuff and not much came. Really disappointed: (

TDS questions were mostly from PM
qns looked easy apparently but reqd inputting on ICDS n case laws! now lot depends on our checkers
I spent a lot of time on some topics like trusts n all latest amendments in vain. So many questions were vague IMO. For some questions ,I remember reading the provisions somewhere but couldn't connect :( really frustrated cos I prepared really hard from vg modules and made many silly mistakes :( Time management is the key !! Learnt my lesson.
Icds was on subsidy and debtors provision right ? Where else was it relevant? :O
Tds provisions and case laws came for 30 marks . No question on famous amendments . Case laws are difficult ... 16 marks question tricky. Out of nowhere they are asked rarest to rarest questions to some 15 to 20 marks .. Overall paper hope is some straight forward questions to the extent of 50 marks asked . That's it from dt ..
IT WAS A MEDIUM DIFFICULT PAPER, ONLY 1ST QUESTION( COMPULSORY) WAS EASY . TDS OF AROUND 14-20 MARKS

Yeah pretty deceptive paper indeed..on the 1st look it seemed decent...but on progressing it was getting confusing by the minute..Anyways guys gear up for Idt people!!!
There were quite relevant amendments asked in every set of question.
1) in MAT ques, share of AOP was an amendment point .
2) GTI Ques had amendments
3) section 80JJAA was an amendment
4) Notice u/s 148 question was a direct amendment related to settlement commission.
5) Residential status and international tax was from amendment.
6) TDS ques had amendment points too!
7) even the case laws has ICDS applicability to ane extent.
How much more ICAI should be precise?
