hey I am looking to open an online shop for this i need a TIN number.can you tell me where to get and how much it cost?
I may start with small things like eletronic parts etc.

In which state u want to start the business. Accordingly u can apply for number. tin.nsdl is site, related to income tax, not to vat.
it will cost u minimum Rs 2000 /-
and u can apply to ur Area Sale Tax Officer .
