Since the beginning of time people have had false ideas of happiness. They have believed that if they could add something to what they already have, they could achieve happiness. But adding to their possessions, piling up money and other things has never yet made anyone happy, because happiness does not exist in conditions or things. . . . . . . . . . . . . . ." MANY PEOPLE HAVE FAME, POWER AND RICHES BUT THEY DONT EXPERIENCE REAL HAPPINESS IN THEIR LIVES. " . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . , It is true. Happiness is purely a mental state. Real happiness is independent of external conditions. It is a creation of the mind. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The happiest people are rarely the richest, or the most beautiful or even the most talented. Happy people do not depend on excitement and fun supplied by externals. Happiness is slippery when we set out to grab it for its own sake, Usually it comes as a by product. It is the result of living each moment wholeheartedly with all our senses ---- finding pleasure in what we are doing. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Your attitude towards life is a major element in happiness. Our consistent research finding of psychologists is that optimists are generally happier than pessimists, regardless of the objective circumstances of their lives. In part, at least, you see what you look for. . . . . . . . DO YOU REMEMBER THE THOUGHT-PROVOKING STORY OF THE THREE LABOURERS. => 'Three people were at work on a construction site. All were doing the same job, but when each was asked what the job was, the answer varied. "breaking rocks," the first replied. :~Earning my living. ' The second said. "Helping to build a cathedral," said the third. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Here I would like to point out that everything in the world is modified and shaped by what we bring to it, by our mentality. If we bring beauty to it we find it beautiful ; if we bring an ugly mental attitude to it, it is ugly and disappointing. . .smile.
