Dear Yoginder

As per Income tax law , there is nothing mention about the giving details of those deductee whose TDS in not deducted . But if you go thru to the format of qtrly return ther is a column REASONS FOR NO DEDUCTION OR LOWER DEDUCTION  , since this column requires all details whether you deduct TDS or not.............. So it is not mandatory because if you dont give details the there is no voilation of law .................

Dear it is purely my opinion , if any body have own opinion then please uodate me..........

Sorabh is correct. For F.Y. 2007-08, if no TDS has been made, then TDS return need NOT be filed.

However let me also mention that as per the latest circular issued by CBDT regarding changes in TDS compliance, TDS quarterly statements will now be required to be filed in Form No. 24C, EVEN IF NO TDS IS MADE IN A PARTICULAR QUARTER. This is applicable w.e.f. 01-07-2009. (Clarification on many matters regarding the said circular is still awaited)

Yes Sandeep you are right, As per new form 24C , TDS return has to be submitted even no TDS is dedusted..........

For more information you can check new circular ..........
