If we receive PAN no. from all transporters then we should not need to deduct TDS on freight payment But what is regarding the liability ti TDS return?
Will Tranport contractor have to file the TDS return?

yes return is filed.
If you have the tan no. then you r required to file the return if your tds deduction is nil.thus return is required.
You need to file a tds return eventhough u haven't deducted TDS..
There will be an option called 'T' in remarks for deduction column while filing return.
You have to select that option to show that TDS deductable but not deducted since the Transporters had provided their PAN no's..
The return wil be a nil return.
