TDS Remove Deductee from Challan

Hello Everyone, We have added one decutee in Challan 194I and files 26Q. But now I want to remove that deductee and use the same challan for next quarter for some other deductee. As there is only one deductee and we cannot delete it, I have downoloaded CONSO file and tried to make amount paid as zero and TDS zero but its not working.

I can do it with least amount ,so remaining amount can be utilised for   next quarter.

But anyone knows how we can free the challan completely.

Thanks in advance

To free the challan completely or utilize the remaining amount for the next quarter, consider the following options:

Modifying Deductee Details You can modify deductee details online through the TRACES portal if you meet the necessary criteria, such as having a registered Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) and a processed statement status.

Here's a step-by-step approach:

1. *Log in to TRACES*: Enter your User ID, Password, TAN, or PAN, and captcha.

2. *Request for Correction*: Navigate to Defaults > Request for Correction and enter the required details.

3. *Select Correction Category*: Choose "Modify / Add Deductee Details" and proceed with the correction.

4. *Edit Deductee Row*: Select the deductee row and click "Edit Deductee Row" to modify details. Utilizing Remaining Challan Balance If you want to use the remaining amount in the challan for the next quarter, you can: - *Add New Deductee*: Use the "Add Deductee Row" option to add a new deductee to the challan with the available balance. -

*Move Deductee Row*: If needed, you can move a deductee row from one matched challan to another for the same quarter, provided there's an available balance. Important Considerations -

*Challan Correction Time Limits*: Certain corrections, like PAN/TAN, Assessment Year, and Total Amount, have specific time limits (7 days to 3 months). -

*Digital Signature Certificate*: Ensure you have a valid DSC to request online challan corrections.¹ ² If these options don't work for your situation, consult with a tax professional or contact the TRACES support team for personalized guidance.
