Yes in the reckoner that example for full year but in the above practical example rent paid only for 6 months that means newly startup business. If a newly startup business no tds to be deducted in that financial year. I think so like that.

hi,

becouse contract is for 6 months and per month amount is 15000 and i.e. 15000*6=90,000/- which is less than threshold limit(1,20,000/- upto June,2010 and  from 1st July,2010 the limit is 1,80,000/-).

hence in this case tds is not applicable

Yes, You have to deduct 2% TDS ON genset rent upto 30 june 2010. After that you need not deduct tds on payment of rent.

Dear Ms. Nidhi,

Why shall he deduct the TDS till 30/6/2009 and need not to deduct further?

What is the base for that statement?

Rahul

Nicky is correct, no tds required

TDS will be Applicable.

m agree with  hitesh kothari    i think ur agreement is for 6 month & amount of rent is 15000 p.m.  amount id 90000  so there is no need to deduct tds

no tds will not deducted
