Quick Summary
A client mistakenly paid TDS on rent at a rate of 5% when the correct rate should have been 2%. The Form 16C also incorrectly stated 2%. The user is seeking advice on how to obtain a refund for the overpaid TDS. A suggestion was made to utilise the excess TDS challan for future rent payments if the property is still rented and payments are ongoing.

Pls post the contractual terms.

Dear,

if property is still rented & your client is still paying rent, then utilise that challan for the next return.
