Quick Summary
This discussion addresses whether winnings from card games, specifically an amount of £49,000, are subject to TDS (Tax Deducted at Source). It clarifies that TDS deduction is mandatory for such winnings. You are advised to declare the full amount in your Income Tax Return (ITR) and pay the applicable tax without any deductions. It's also recommended to inquire with the client about potential future TDS deductions.

Is the prize amount below Rs. 10,000/?

@ dhirajlal sir.....prize amt is above 10k...that is 49k

It is mandatory to deduct TDS for winning on card games. Just inquire with the client for any tds deduction by the programmer in future.

You need to declare in ITR and pay tax over it without any deductions.
