We are in manufacturing company and we use to take trasport service from TCI Express for transport of our goods to difference places, Can you please tell me whether we have to deduct the TDS on transport charges or not.

TDS is not deductible in case of transporter if he provides his PAN and a declaration saying that he has not more than10 goods carriage. Moreover, if the amount doesnt exceeds 25000 in single payment or 75000 during a financial year then also tds is not deductible. Otherwise it is deductible u/s 194C @ 1% if recipient is individual/huf or 2% in other cases.
Does manufacturing company liable to pay service tax?
