One of my friend have Savings Bank Account with Federal Bank Ltd.The bank credited Rs. 35,610 as interest during the FY 2017-18 and the bank deducted tax on interest u/s 194A.
My query is that is section 194A is applicable to SB A/c. interest?

TDS applicable.... If exceedig Rs. 10000
no, there is no provision of cutting tds on interest on s/b A/C
As per me TDS not deducted on saving Bank interest
Note: Saving Bank interest is exempt upto Rs.10000 u/s 80TTA
