Tds on rent of packing material

We are a manufacturing Automotive Company and we are paying rent for our packing material.

I want to know if there is any liability of TDS is there, if yes then kindly let me know in which head I have to deduct the TDS on what rate.

charges paid for packing material

194c @ 2% as it is company.

Is it rent for packing material or charges??

194c(1) payment to contractors--------if amount exceeded Rs. 30000/- for single payment
tds rate 2%

Hi,

For this TDS to be duducted u/s 194 C @ 2% in case of Co/Firm or 1% in case of individual.

Its a kind of contract so tds should be deducted u/s 194c

Are you paying rent to a warehouse company for storing your packing material? If you are paying more than 180,000/- pa then TDS u/s 194I will have to be deducted.

you are manufacturer and paying rent for storage of packing material..so its is a rent and tds u/s 94 I

I think that it is rent on movable assets so it is fall under sec. 194I so tds would be @ 2%.
