16 February 2011Is TDS applicable on the amount reimbursement to person who spent the stamp duty & registration charges on our behalf. & later they claimed it... But still we do not have received the bill for that...
So plz help me what to do? Deduct the TDS or not? Basically they working as contractor for us....

Yes you need to deduct tds when you will recd will if he is working at contractor.

No TDS is required to be deducted in case of reimbursement of stamp duty & registration charges paid by any person on your behalf.
TDS would only be required to be deducted on the contractor's charges for performing this work for you.
You get receipts issued by the stamping & registering authorities for the amount paid as stamp duty & registration charges.
