My client (a software development compnay) has asked me for a certificate in respect of remittance in foreign currency...
He procured a software license from outside india. My Query is whether Sec 195 (TDS provisions) is applicable for this transaction. Do they need to deduct TDS?

If it is having Professional or technical fee along with software asset then 195 is applicable basing on country wise. But you have to confirm only purchse or need to pay any technical fee due to installation fee. I thought technical fee not there here so not applicabe 195 withholding tds. Any how please confirm with your client about additional fee for installation or technical problem or maintenance.
