I have sold a five year old flat which was jointly owned by me and my wife. I am a salaried person where was my wife is a home maker with no source of income. The buyer wants to deduct the TDS (1%) from the sale value and pay it to the tax dept. I wanted to know If the TDS can be done against my PAN number only as my wife doesn't have any source of income. She didn't contribute any amount while buying the property.Looking forward to your guidance.
