Quick Summary
If your minor child has had Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) on compensation received, you'll need to file their Income Tax Return (ITR) to claim it back. According to Section 64(1)(A) of the Income Tax Act, this income must be clubbed with the higher-earning parent's income. The parent can claim the TDS by mentioning the minor's PAN in their own ITR, ensuring the income is correctly reported for clubbing purposes.

Refer section 64(1)(A)of the Income tax act .
Such income shall be clubbed in the hands of the parent whose income is higher. TDS can be claimed as well by the parent but I am not sure how the return filing procedures shall take place.

The TDS can be claimed by either of the parents in his/her ITR.

PAN of the minor has to be mentioned in the TDS section by the parent. Further, the income will also be clubbed in the hands of the parents.
