Tds on interest income for a house wife with no other income

My wife has no income as she is a house wife only she has some interest income ( attached jpg image of 26 AS ) now she got one message " Your 26 AS Statement for FY16-17 shows income receipts without TDS. Please ascertain your liability & file IT return in time (by 31st July 2017, if not auditable). Now my question is does she has to pay tax on this one though she has no other income ? Secondly is it needed for her to file income tax return online / offline.

Please guide me in this regard.

The form that you have attached is the list of TDS deducted. If your spouse's income is exceeding 250000/- before providing for deductions then it is mandatory to file the retuen of income.
In case your spouse's income does not exceed 250000/- then it is advisable to file the return of income and can claim the refund of the TDS deducted from the department.

Thanks for the reply, please view the attached image one more time, the field with caption "Total Tax Deducted " No 7 column is zero , hence the Form 26 AS shows that no tax have been deducted and total interest income as per this Form 26 AS is Rs21976/- with is less than Rs 250000/-. So does she needs to file income tax return, this is my question Sir.
