TDS on Designs Purchased

We are a Tiles Manufacturing company. We purchase Tiles Designs in PDF from a vendor and capitalise the same in assets. Whether TDS would be applicable on such purchase. Those are readymade designs that the vendors provides us in Pendrive or CD. It is not a software and doesn't have license. They are mere designs used for printing on our tiles.

Quick Summary
A tiles manufacturing company is seeking clarification on whether Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) applies when purchasing readymade tile designs on physical media like a CD or USB drive. The company capitalises these designs as assets and questions if they should be treated as goods or services for TDS purposes. The general consensus suggests that if the designs are considered goods provided by the supplier, TDS would not be applicable.

If that is a treated as goods by the supplier and not services then no need to deduct any TDS.

No TDS applies
