Tds not deposited by post office how to file return?

TDS 3028 views 7 replies

I have SCSS account in Post Office and an amount of Rs 3488/- has been deducted as TDS from interest. The Post Office could not provide Form 16A and the deduction does not appear in Form 26AS as well.

I have lodged a complaint at the Post Office but I think the matter may not be sorted out by 31st July 2016.

How can I claim this credit while submitting the return?

You can submit your income tax return for financial year 2015-16 upto 31/03/2017

when TDS is not appearing in Form 26AS then refund cannot be issued by department

file the return and then revise it when you get f16

My return is a refund case without considering this credit of Rs 3488/-. Suppose the return is accepted for refund and closed how can I claim the refund of Rs 3488/-

later u can rectify the return

yes rectify afterwards

Today I saw the entry of Rs 3488/- in Form 26AS and filed the return.

There is another issue. The Post Office booked the amount in wrong section (194H). I am not going to accept Form 16A and ask them to rectify the section to 194A
