Tds late filling fee
kindly let me know current status of late filling fee Rs.200 per day on tds returns.

could you please tell me the maximum amount of late filing fee
Section 234E effective from 1st of July 2012- deductor will be liable to pay by way of fee of Rs 200 per day till the failure to file TDS statement continues, However, the total fee cannot exceed the amount of TDS deductible for which statement was required to be filed.
Rs. 200 per day * No. of days filled late or TDS deducted amount whichever is lower.
