Tds deducted by previous employer not included in form 16

Dear Sirs ,

Kindly advise on the following situation :

A Salaried Person has changed his Employment from Company A1 to  Company B2.

His Current Employer – ‘Company B2’ has issued Form 16 wherein

the Income from his (Old) Previous Employer has been included.

However, the TDS deducted by  Previous Employer has not been included in the Form 16 issued by the (NEW) Current Employer

What procedure must he follow to Claim the TDS in his Tax Return ?

Should he procure a Firm 16 from the Previous Employer as well?

Can the Previous Employers Issue such a Form 16 for the relevant Period ?

Plz Reply

(Note : The said TDS amount is being reflected in Form 26AS also )

yes, the person is required to obtain form 16 from both employers. however if he is not able to obtain form 16 but the income credited to him and tds deducted there on is being shown in 26as then the person can his it return on basis of 26as.

You will have to contact your previous employer and obtain form 16.

You have to got the Form 16 from previous employer

If in 26AS tds credit of first employer is showing than you can claim in your IT return.

You should check Form 26AS, whether TDS deducted by A1 is crededted or not and if it is credited then you may claim it on the basis of Form 26AS. Otherwise contact A1 for Form 16.

Firstly the employee can take credit of such TDS payment if the amount is shown in 26AS.Such TDS payment details can be shown in ITR and then as a documentary proof of such payment kindly obtain a From 16 from employer A1.
Kindly do check wether such amount deducted from your salary is duly credited to govt. account through 26AS.

Thanks and Regards,

Pratik
