TDS CLAIM

Hi..... myself amir one of our client has not filed IT return and also not claimed TDS from 2000, so any one can suggest me that if he is going to file IT return now, can he claim TDS for the for the earlier years if not for how many years he can claim the TDS.

U cannot claim TDS without disclosing any taxable income against it. u have to disclose income for a particular previous year and can claim reduction in tax through TDS. u cannot claim entire TDS amount since 2002 by filling Return in AY 09-10. at the most u can claim benifit of TDS by filling Return for AY 08-09 as it can be filed upto 31.03.2010. u have consider income for a particular previous year and TDS against it . do not combine it. u should further confirm u r queary by posting it to EXPERTS section in the site.

I Think no time limit for claiming TDS but should be claimed the same AY Retrun, if you can file return now , you can claim tds for the respective periods

even i think TDS can be claimed now pertaining to previous year subject to disclosure of respective year income and no assessment order relased for this year income.
