Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies how Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) is calculated on salary. Employers determine TDS based on an employee's net taxable income, which is the gross taxable income minus any tax-saving deductions declared by the employee under sections 80C to 80U. This includes deductions for home loan principal and interest, provided the employee furnishes the necessary proofs.
