Dear All,

Please let me know

We have deducted the TDS on payment of rent during FY 2013-14 as total rent paid crossed the limit of Rs. 180000/- but the rent agreement expired on 30.06.14 due to which total rent paid during Fy 2014-15 comes to Rs 90000/- only. Now rent paid has not crossed the ceilling amount of Rs 1,80,000/ u/s 194I.

Is it mandatory to deduct TDS in FY 2014-15 ?

Dear avinash, if there is no revision in rent agreement, No tds to be deducted if payment is under limit.

question is, r u vacant the office or not??????/

if rent agreement was not renewed, then no need to deduct tds. if renewed and rent recvd exceeds 180000 then you need to deduct tds.

Rent agreement not revised and payment would not cross the limit of Rs 1,80,000/-

It means if we have deducted TDS during 2013-14 under any section of TDS but during 14-15 limit does not cross

TDS need not to deduct?
