Taxation of MLD gains and it's set off against ST/LT losses.
Can I set off cap. gains of MLD (held for 15 months-till maturity, in F.Y. 20-21), against ST/LT cap. losses incurred in F.Y. 20-21 ??

Since gains from Market Linked Debentures are treated as Short-Term Capital Gains (STCG) under Section 50AA, you can set off Short-Term Capital Losses against them. However, you cannot use Long-Term Capital Losses to offset these gains.
