Tax Saving on Medical Expenses

I am a Central Govt employee and regularly incurring expenses on OPD consultation and medicine purchase for my father (age 58 ,retired from pvt sector and suffering from Neurological disorder). Is there any way to save tax on expenses incurred by me or avail any kind of benefit etc. Pls assist. Thanks in advance!

U can claim maximum of Rs 5000 deduction in tax return as per sec 80c
You can claim rs 40000 or actual medical expenses incurred whichever is less under section 80DDB. make sure to get prescripttion or doctor certificate in respect of the disease your father suffering from
