ADITYA BIRLA SUN LIFE TAX RELIEF 96 FUND GROWTH ........ eligible for 80C deduction.

SO should i showing it in under 80ccg header? or 80c? and what about the 5year fd for tax saving

as current itr online shows sepaarte 80ccg investments made under equity savings scheme so should aditya one be shown here?

Its shown under 80C and not eligible for 80CCG. New investor in Financial Year 2017-18 are not be eligible to claim the deduction under section 80CCG

so from next year i can claim it under 80ccg?

It is claimed only in the year of investment, that is under 80C. ..........   80CCG is not applicable in this case.

thank you and congratulations

Yes you are right Neha, either it is 5 years FD or any Mutual Fund, you can claim deductions for both of them under Section 80C. When it comes to equity mutual fund, you can claim deductions under section 80CCG. It should be remembered that Section 80CCG is the part of Section 80C.

It should be noted here that the Section 80CCG or RGESS (rajiv Gandhi Equity Share Scheme) have been discontinued from 1st of April 2017.

So there is only option under which you can claim deductions is Section 80C. Have a look on Tax saving investments Options under Section 80C investment options:

  • ELSS Fund
  • PPF
  • NPS
  • FD
  • ULIP
  • Sukanya Samriddhi
  • SCSS
