30 May 2011We filed for tax refund of Rs. 47,000 for A.Y. 2010-11, but received only Rs. 11,000. What to do now? I m totally clueless? The refund was of bank intt. of 2 differnet banks. The first bank deducted Rs. 11,000 and the other Rs. 36,000. Plz guide.

u must hve also rec the Assessment order along wit refund frm dept.
chk d calculation if any mistak found thn contact d AO who signed d order.

check form 26AS and verify the details of 36000 with your 26AS, if found correct, and the interest income is shown correct in your ITR filed, then visit respective ITO, and ask for correction and refund of amount short paid.,

no, we haven't received any assessment order. and, how to check 26AS. The online facility says that person should visit the TIN centre, but he is currently in UK and won't be coming back for at least few more months.

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED YOUR PAN THAN YOU CAN SEE IT . IF NOT THAN REGISTER YOUR PAN NOW ONLINE

but, for that we have to regiter and visit the TIN centre personally, but the assessee is in UK

If u didnt recieve any Assessement Order than how did u recieve Income tax refund of rs 11,000 as u posted it n your original querry????????

use netbanking of your bank in india under " view your tax credit" to get form 26AS

no, sir...........there is no assessment order. Only thing we received is a cheque along with a small counterfoil mentioning cheque no., PAN no., amount etc. Nothing else.
What can we do now??

your authorized representative has to visit the AO for assessment order and then do the needful

First u check ur 26 AS on INCOME TAX SITE and verify the amoung of rs 36000 where that amount deducte n than chk the calculation n talk with AO
