I was liable to pay tax for the AY 2011-12 (current year 2010-11).
I paid tax via net banking for the AY 2010-11 instead of AY 2011-12.
What can I do now?

Write a Letter to the Income Tax Officer stating the facts. Also attach the copy of the Tax Challan with the letter.

Yes. I am writing to AO rquesting to give the credit of the tax paid to AY 2011-12 and not to AY 2010-11. Also attaching copy of challan with wrong AY.
