Sir, Interest Accrued on NSC is treated as Income from Other Sources and later on it is deducted U/S 80 c from the total income...
Interest of the terminal year in which NSC matures is included in income but does not qualify for Sec 80C deduction. Tuition fees to University, college, school or any other educational institution in India shall qualify, tuition fees paid to coaching classes may not qualify.
1) only tution fee u can claimed in u/s80c. 2. Intt Accured on NSC is treateed as income from other sources and same u can tread in u/s 80C.
payment made as tution fees to any university, college or school or other educational institution situated in india for the purpose of full time education in respect of any two children of the assessee. Accured interest on NSC is not eligible for deduction under sec 80C. it is a taxable income under the head INCOME FROM OTHER SOURCES
what is the treatment of interest on housing loan? is it elegible u/s 80c? ple mail
Dear Sir, Will you explain why interest accrued of NSC is not treated as as reinvestment in NSC. You are right that it is taxable as an income from other sources, but what abour reinvested accrued interest. Sunil Rathod
Dear Neeraj Sinha,
On what basis are you saying Intt.Accrued is not eligible for deduction U/s 80C?

I can send you the e-mail message received by me from Shi P.N.Shah,Past President of ICAI who clearly mentiones it is eligible for deduction U/s 80C.
