Tax demand of assessment 2011-12

Dear All,

I would like to get your attention on the matter of Income tax demand shown in Income Tax Login site.

As i have been requested/instructed to deposit or to be adjusted from my refund of Income tax. Demand is related to Assessment Year 2011-12, when return was filed manually.

I had paid the tax but now as the demand has incurred due to any reason, i would like to know how can i paid it to the relevant Assessment Year.

I don't want to go deeply in the matter and want to pay the demand as soon as possible to close the matter.

Kindly suggest how can pay it.

Dear Sachin,

If the demand appears against your PAN, then visit your concerned jurisdictional office where you have filed the return.

You will the information that why this demand has been raised?

If the demand has been raised due to the TDS mismatch or if they have not considered any of the taxes paid by you, then file a request letter to cancel the incorrect demand and issue me the refund for that A.Y.

After getting the corrected demand cancel order, upload it on the incometaxindiaefiling site under the PENDING ACTION caption.

It is correct way to cancel the income tax demand.
