Sir, I had requested as u suggest but my employer, a govt.of India u/t, is not doing. Saying it is not done. My case was of AY 12- 13.I  have disagreed with demand on online account stating all the fact but no further communication from  IT deptt. Pl. suggest other way out.

Write application about the duplication of PAN and request to adjust outstanding demand with the TDS to your Jurisdictional AO,  with personal follow up.

Thanks sir for ur valuable suggestion. Whether jurisdictional AO have that authority to adjust TDS on old PAN to demand on new PAN. Demand is from CPC , Bangalore.

first cancelled pan no u dont have at present

Hi, As per Income Tax Act,1961 one person can hold only one pan number. If there is two pan of same person then it is against the provision. You need to surrender one of your pan.

Holding 2 Pan cards are Crime write to A.O. with proper justification for 2 PAN NUMBERS . 

If you cant justify pay the Penalty instead of going to jail

I had requested for cancellation of old PAN to UTI but they suggested to contact local AO. I had already applied to local AO for cancellation of old PAN

I had applied to UTI for cancellation of old PAN, subsequently applied to local AO ,as suggested by UTI,alongwith letter from UTI in 2011.but PAN is still active.
