if i have paid the advance tax for MAT and i have tax deducted at source, can i claim refund for it. also i have Tax deducted at source from previous years as well. how can all those Tax deducted at source can be claimed back for refund. though we have submitted the tax returns claiming for refund every year for the Tax deducted at source we havent receivd the refund yet. what can be done for claiming all the refund?

Dear Annapoorna,

Both Advance Tax & TDS can be deducted from Tx Liability under MAT & If refund is due then the same will be allowed.

TDS deducted can be claimed against the Tax liability of the Year in which the Income (subjected to TDS) is recognized (I mean past year TDS cannot be claimed in the current year unless the that income is recognized in the current year).

U have done ur part by filing Return now just follow up with the Assessing officer regarding the status of refunds.........

ofcourse u can claim refund, ofo late the refunds are getting delayed, u have to follow it up with the ward in which u have submitted the return or the ward which has jurisdiction of ur company
