For the purpose of Sec. 44AB, "accountant" shall have the same meaning as in the Explanation below sub-section (2) of section 288.
and it means a chartered accountant who holds a valid certificate of practice.

Cost accountant cannot do Tax Audit U/S 44AB.
No person can do tax audit except CA.
Hope u got clear
No Cost Accountant can not do Tax Audit and Chartered accountant can not do cost audit... these two area are unique for both.
