Taspayer has to register into traces ? registeration failed

Hi, I am a salaried employee, I was going to fill my return for last financial year, I have registerd in income tax efiling (https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/) . From there I can download even form 26AS.

My question is : Is there any need for taxpayer to register in TRACES (https://www.tdscpc.gov.in/app/tapreg1.xH T M L) . Because I was registering in it, everytime its showing some errors, either option 1 is incorrect when i fill option 1 or option 2 is incorrect when I fill option 2.

Registration of taxpayer with TRACES is not mandatory, unless tax deductor.

Details about form 26AS available via Efilling incometax site or netbanking....

Form 26AS can be the final (TRACES) foundation to declare in ITR for interest income received + TDS deducted?? (no other income)

For FY 2016-17 - Form 26As obtained via one of the bank's internet bank via TRACES wewb site does not have all the banks FD / interest info....some govt banks where 15G was applied have no info at all in the current Form 26AS obtained today for the entire 12 months period (1-4-2016 to 31-3-2017) ... when asked form 16as - the bank branch say they have not generated & giving only Interest paid certificare for the last 12 months in a statement with signature/chop...this is the same story in 2 banks. how to proceed?
