just save the data in your drive which  you received from branch then restore the data  from where data is saved

Ask your branch to export tally data in xml format (out of 4 format) as tally 9 supports only xml format.

BTW for Data Export Import  requirement & consolidated branch accounting try Busy from Busy Infotech (low cost) which is good alternate for costly Softwares. They can also Import Data in Busy from Tally's different version.
