Hi Guyz,

Let me just start with giving a small introduction of myself. I am a 25 year old post graduate (MBA) and currently working with a KPO. The problem facing me is quite peculiar. I have been working for the past 4 years in fields/jobs where my heart did not lie in. It was just circumstances (not financial- but non admission into a regular MBA programs) which forced me to do a part time MBA and work along with it. I have now recently switched jobs and I find myself to be unhappy again. At this stage I have decided to quit and decide what do I actualy want to do in life.

Now the problem, I always had keen interest in accountancy right from class 11th, but again wrong choices and circumstances made me do honours in economics with pretty low aggregate percentage. I had filled in for CA foundation in 2003 but thought that this would bnot be feasible with economics and left it. Now that I am in a soup, I look back and can make out that not pursuing the course of my interest has landed me where I am today, unhappy with my career. Sure, I have done MBA , but hardcore financial analysis and technical stuff on accountancy still excites me.

Would it be feasible for me to not think about my age and go for CA at this stage? How much time does it take to get a charter membership>?? I know most of the people who become CA are younger than me, but I dont know, I just cant let go this thought!!

Desperately seeking answers :)

Hi brother, dont worry about age while doing CA. Age is not a criteria at all, particularly in CA like professional course. Even I have quit the job and joined CA late, after my PG. If you are interested in this field, you are heartily welcome..your interest matters..all the best.

U hve seen jst that most of the CA's r younger than u, but my friend, rove around ur eyes a bit more and u will find people aging much more than u r filing for ca course with equal measure.

I should say ur concern should not be the age or the point of time in ur life, rather it should be like whether u can elapse another 4.5 yrs. of ur life by actually studying. If u can fend for urself with the meagre stipend for three yrs., if u still contains the zeal and courage needed to give and clear it all in a go, if u still can wait up for another such years keeping ur vengeance for the course intact, Then C.A. will certainly b the course u won't find wrong taking decision to join for.....!!!! Rest is ur own decision regarding the money and time spent on this course..

HI,

As it is rightly pointed by many of our friends. Age is not the criteria. It is only hard work and dedication through which u can achive results. There are few hints and skills which you should pocess in order to clear the exams. you can join me at my forum www.cmakaushik.caclubindia.com or write to me at rk.rkaushik @ gmail.com, where in I can  share few tips on clearing professional exams.
