Hello,

I just wanted to know that what is the current rate of STT(Securities Transaction Tax) levied on trading transactions ?

& on which amount it is levied,on Turnover amount or on Brokerage ?

& is there any other tax levied on the transactions ?

Here is a chart of STT rates & their applicability -

Product	Transaction	STT rate	Charged on
Equity-Delivery	Purchase	0.125%	Turnover
Equity-Delivery	Sell	0.125%	Turnover
Equity-Intraday	Purchase	-	-
Equity-Intraday	Sell	0.025%	Turnover
Future	Purchase	-
Future	Sell	0.017%	Turnover
Option	Purchase	0.125%	Settlement price, on exercise
Option	Sell	0.017%	Premium

Besides STT you may have to pay Transaction charges, SEBI Turnover charges or stamp duty etc.
