Which companies are required to get audited under companies Act?

All the public companies and state owned companies need to get audited. Any profit or non-profit making company whose aggregate assets exceed Rs. 5 million are required to get an audit done.Also, any non profit company that was directly or indirectly incorporated by state or is primarily incorporated to perform a statutory function in terms of any legislation should get their books audited.
