Hi.

I just received a message from the CDC saying, "The Income Tax Department- Centralized Processing Centre (ITD-CPC), Bangalore is not in a position to proceed with the e-return filed by you, details of which are indicated above. The return is transferred to Jurisdictional Assessing Officer (in AST) processing of which is to be done by the Jurisdictional Assessing Officer who may be contacted for further clarifications if any. "

The website has the code for the jurisdiction but the name or contact nos. are not there. How can the jurisdiction officer be contacted? Is there something to be worried about? This is for assessment year 2010-11 for which I received the mail. Please help

If you can provide the jurisdiction codes then , it can be found that who is the officer and his contact information.

You should not get worried at all , as this letter from Banglore is for your information that the return of income will be processed by local jurisdictional officer and not by banglore CPC.

The following are the possible Reasons:

1. Case selected for Scrutiny

2. The refund amount is very high

3. the return is revised may be two , three times

4. some claims for expenses or deduction under chapter VI-A are high compared to allowable norms

etc etc etc

so nothing to worry, meet the local jurisdictional officer and complete the process.
