If we take this matter at broader level, then its the responsibilty of LEGAL Department of the company or CS in full time employment or CA, who handles the whole affairs of the company..

So, practically speeking, if u wanna inform to higher level of mgmt or take some credit to ur worth, then u can inform to CA/CS without coming in light to the other staff. Coz if r senior accounts manager comes to know about this, u may suffer alot (depends on how much creditibilty of ur accounts manager in the eyes of ur mgmt)...

I think u shud say this matter to that CS/CA after taking them in confidence..

Ya , u should came this matter in light , as u are an account person and in future u can also be questioned on same but its intensity should be depended on your organisation culture. If ur manager is not serious about this issue , then try to find out on which basis , he is so confident ( as this matter can take his job also ). Whether he was asked to do so by some key mangerial person . Its better to came this matter in limelight and take the view of management in written whether on email or else to save gaurd yourself

U can even take help of ur Satutory Auditor / Internal Auditor.

Inform them about this and in turn they will inform it to Magament in respect of this.

If u r directly going to mgmt then kindly present ur self in with few examples, their concequencies, etc
