I was searching the web for information statistics regarding income tax in India for a related project but could not find much ... like how many taxpayers in india , tax collected.... ranges etc .. and also any major tax payers(companies in news )... (heard like mumbai is greatest taxpayer)...
Wd be glad if smone can direct me to any news links, pdfs etc.

yeah 40% ofdirect tax collection in INdia is done from mumbai... there is a growth of 40% in india's tax collection this year... 2.4 cr taxpayers.. akshay kumar is these years highest tax payer till now... 26.1 cr he paid
