I want to know why we calculate Variable overheads Variances in case of Idle Time in ques on the basis of actual hours worked not on the total actual hours. plz give me some strong reason

THE VARIANCE IS CALCULATED FOR TIME LOST AS IDLE TIME..
U CAN CALCULATE THIS ONLY BASED ON ACTUALS..
variable overhead only incurred on working hours not not payment hours.
jaise exams main marks sitting ke nahin attmpt ke hote hai thick usi tarah se variable overhead total payment hours pe nahin working hrs pe hote hai.
Total payment hours = Total working hours + idle hours
Total Payment hours sift Labour rate Variance ke Liye hi use hota hai aur kahin uska koi use nahin hai
