V. S. Datey sir has written a book for IPCC ST & VAT carrying 50 marks which is published by Taxmann. Would it be better to prefer it over Mohd. Rafi's book (Bharat) for the same?

For ST & VAT, module of icai is more than sufficient. For practice problems you gets a lot of files in caclub. Practising them is sufficient. Make sure you have also done the practice manuals for st and vat.

But I want to say that Modules are not students friendly and if one needs to gain good amount of knowledge then what? Some how ST-VAT carries 50 marks and it is not a small issue.
Yes, i will agree that module is not that much user-friendly, so if you are looking for some simple language to understand the concepts, then I adivse Girish Ahuja book. Reg. practicing problems, refer practice manuals and module problems and girish book, in this section, we wont get much difficult problems. Refer old compilation they are sufficient.
