Is it mandatory to inform excise department if turnover cross 150 lac in case of SSI Unit and what is the format for the same?

No need to inform. Only you pay the duty after 1.5 cr.
file R-1 with department for registration(after 140 lacs) online through ACES.GOV.IN, and send the printout with requisite documents, and start to pay duty after 150 lacs.
