If an SSI unit is registered with Excise Dept. & still under the exemption limit as per the excise notification, does the excise registration with the Excise Dept. prevent the Unit from claiming exemption.
And at the time of export & particularly when there is a factory-stuffing of container for export, what are the documentation required?
If your turnover is not crossing 1.5 crores you do not have to pay the duty, even if you take the registeration. Registeration is mandatory when the exemption is crossed. After crossing the turnover of 90 lacs you just need to intimate the department but not required to take the registeration.
factory stuffing is permissible even if goods are not excisable or are exempt from duty. The manufacturer has to apply to the Range Superintendent and pay supervision charges.
