Sole prop from a rented house, problem for the landlord?

Hi,

I am from Bangalore and live in a rented house.

I am planning to apply for sole proprietorship to sell products on Amazon.

For this I would require GST number and to obtain that I will have to submit Rental Agreement and NOC from owner that they do not have any issue.

The business does not involve any manufacturing, or usage of electricity, water or gas etc. it’s basically I import items such as fashion jewelry, store them in a cupboard and sell at Amazon.

But my landlord is worried that it can attract fine for him for allowing me to do business on a residential property.

Are there any rules that can cause issues for Landlord for allowing a tenant to do Sole proprietorship business where it’s basically store and sell online of products that are not restricted goods but simple items like jewelry?

First amongst all........ is GST registration and charging GST over the rental income for renting premises for non-residential use.!!!

Municipal tax gets triplled !!!

Thank you for the response Sir.

In my case where there is no usage of Electricity, Gas and Water, and business is of Sole Prop store and sell, even then would it come under Municipal taxes?

Yes, Municipality collects property tax based on its nature of usage.
