Your clarifiction can be answered in two: Firstly, A practicing Chartered Accountant can only be eligible to attest the Tax and VAT audit report. Secondly, to be unbiased while attesting any function related to accounting, auditing etc., the 'independence', one of the basic principle governing an audit should be carefully looked into. In this respect Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 will come into play an objectional role.

Agree with Ramanju

A C.A. can sign the reports of his relatives, only when his relation with the person is not affecting his work. That is as ramunju said 'independence' in work//..

In ur case, its the real brothers reports, so thats very obvious that c.a's work will be affected undoubtedly...

So, a C.A should not be allowed to sigh such reports

Earlier it was allowed to sign the Tax Audit Reports of relatives by giving the specific disclosure of the same. However, the Code of Ethics and Regulation shave been ammended to change the same. Now a Chartered Accountant cannot audit the books of accounts of his relatives.
