Share transfer

I Want to know that Can a shareholder transfer 3 share certificates of 100 each to another shareholder even if its mentioned in Annual Return that 300 shares are transferred by him and not 3*100=300 shares each. or the 3 share certificates have to be cancelled and a new share certificate for 300 shares has to be issued..............
