I want to set up a Propritorship firm, i have the below mentioned queries :-

1) Can the firm name differ from the name of an individual (If the ans is yes then can it be named as ___ studio)

2) Do we need to obtain any licenses? (If yes, then from where to obtain the bussiness license for providing web designing services)

3) Is it essential to obtain Trademark registration number?

4) Can a bank account be opened in the name of the propritorship firm (Please list down the Documents to be submitted in this regard.)

5) Is there any mandatory requirement for a member of ICAI (Not having COP), to intimate the ICAI about carrying out a propritorship firm or any specific permission from ICAi is necessary? (If yes, then please provide the form or any other details which can be helpful)

1> Yes, It Can Be  - No Issues's

2> Only a Trade Licence is to Be Obtained From Regional Trade Authorities.

3> No Succh, It Only Upto U

4> Yes, Just a Trade Licence needed For Name,Other Than Prop. PAN & Address Proff. & Photo of Proprietor.

5>  Yes, Its Manadtory to Intimate ICAI Within 30 Days , if Prop. is CA, a Engagement Information.

They Need Record That Which CA Engaged at Where.

Thank you ayush for all the information, as you mentioned a trade license to be obtained from trade agencies - can you please elaborate exactly whom i should approach for obtaining this license?

In regard to the last point, whether we have to take a prior approval of ICAi or an intimation to ICAI would be sufficient.

Help me out in case your are aware of abovementioned points, Thank you again.

Whether a Chartered Accountant in practice is required to obtain any trade license for practicing?

No, a Chartered Accountant in practice is not required to obtain any trade licence for practicing as a professional. The certificate of practice issued by the Institute is the only requirement to practice as a Chartered Accountant.

Do I need to open a seperate bank account in the name of sole proprietorship firm?

Also, is obtaining trade license a must for sole proprietorship firm.
